Problem Statement
As a service provider for companies with complex supply chains, e-llis is constantly on the lookout to improve and innovate their own operations. They take on the complexity, so their customers don’t have to. But this comes with a number of challenges: dependency on partners, cost optimization and technological integrations of customers and suppliers, to name just a few. And it's the latter where Mileviewer comes into play as E-llis needs to integrate various technologies to manage supply chain operations. Think ERP, TMS, WMS, 3PL portals, etc. All of them using different technologies and data formats. The team at e-llis was looking for both a knowledgeable partner ànd a flexible solution that would speed up technological integrations. The first challenge that would be tackled was a centralized and unified label call that could make abstraction of the forwarder that would deliver the shipment.

Solution
We started the project with an audit of the current internal and external systems, process flows and data streams. Once it was clear how Mileviewer would play it's roll as universal adapter within e-llis' control tower solution, we moved on to the next phase of the project.
It was important for e-llis to have these elements mapped out into a lean and agile approach hat would not impact the internal IT team. The different milestones were set out with reliability, up-time and minimal dependency in mind. The collaboration found great momentum from the start, because at Mileviewer we build and deliver technology but we know and 'speak' logistics.
Planning, mapping, integrating and testing were neatly aligned to our timeline. Mileviewer was implemented over the course of weeks, not months, thanks to our large library of off-the-shelf integrations and our rapid development methods for new components.
E-llis can now request a label from any forwarder with just the click of a button. Mileviewer takes care of translating the data formats in both directions. This makes things a lot easier for planners and warehouse professionals who handle multiple shipments daily.
